# LEGO Instructions Manager (LIM)
Flask web app for organising LEGO instruction manuals — official sets and MOCs (My Own Creations).
**Repository:** https://gitea.hideawaygaming.com.au/jessikitty/lego-instructions-manager
## Architecture
- Flask with modular `app/` package: separate `services/`, `routes/` (blueprints), models, templates
- SQLAlchemy + SQLite (PostgreSQL planned for production); Bootstrap 5 front end
- PDF/image instruction uploads; PyMuPDF for PDF thumbnails, Pillow for cover image optimisation
- Brickset API for auto-populating set details
- Auth with admin panel, user management, stats dashboard, role-based access
- MOC numbering via `MOCNumberGenerator` — global sequence, `MOC-0001` format
## Deployment
- Windows host at `E:\LIM`, Python 3.14, served with waitress
- Auto-start via `start_lim.bat` + Task Scheduler (`setup_startup.bat`)
## Conventions
- Flexible dependency ranges; minimums for Py 3.14: PyMuPDF ≥1.24.0, Pillow ≥11.0.0, SQLAlchemy ≥2.0.35
- Quote version specifiers on Windows (`pip install "pkg>=x"`) — unquoted `>` creates stray files
## Session Log
- 2025-12-12 — Python 3.14 Compatibility and Windows Auto-Start — Raised dependency minimums, flexible ranges, Task Scheduler startup
- 2025-12-15 — MOC Number Auto-Generation (Global Numbering) — MOC service/blueprint, global MOC-0001 numbering, auto-fill + validation
- 2026-01-05 — LEGO-Themed Visual Refresh — Brand-styled base template, dashboard and home page
